Research Interests

My research interests lie in application of omic dataset, like genomics, metagenomes, transcriptomics, and metabolomics.
Broadly, I am interested in decode how important phenotypes are shaped by the underlying genomic, and metagenomic factors.
My long-term goals include several omics-related approaches, but are focused on increasing the comprehensiveness of genotype-phenotype
relationships for important traits of both host and its related microbiota. It is my believe that metagenomics is powerful tool in any aspect of its usage,
and that high-throughput sequencing (HTS) methods will expand focus from single genomes to metagenomes and the future advances will shift this field,
making it essential to understand the interactions between genome and microbiome in any aspect.

In my recent research i have focused on applied science in microbiota modifications,
both with an applied focus on performance enhancing ability in livestock, but also basic questions about co-evolution between host and microbe
and niche adaptation for microbial symbionts. My research has been about investigation of microbes in multitude of animals,
including fishs, avians, and mammals.
Furthermore, I believe the global oceans hold a massive treasure in its diverse and vast range of marine bacteria.
I hold a grand curiosity about the ecology and evolution of these bacteria.
Further, I am investigating the usage of metagenomics for global marine monitoring of microbes in relation to biotechnical applications,
such as synthesis of secondary metabolites, prevalence of antibiotic resistance, and interactions with bacteriophages.
