The Institution of Dinosaur Studies sets up and hosts an aggregator for images etc. of dinosaur fossils. A hundred other organisations participate, each maintaining a IIIF collection of the subset of things in their IIIF repositories relevant to the aggregator.
Does the Institution host the registry for this and is its existence recorded anywhere in the central IIIF registry?

Distilling questions:

  • If IDS has a registry, is there a registry entry somehow for that?
  • Can the content providers submit both partial and full streams?
  • Should the implementation note about the algorithm in CD be updated to talk about registries and duplication?

Answers from TSG:

  • Main registry can include entry for "sub-registry"'s stream of aggregated activities, but not the registry itself
  • Yes, can provide multiple overlapping streams
  • No, too complicated, but a good recipe

Sorry I don't understand the first bullet (Q and A). 'registry' sometimes refer to 'IIIF registry' sometimes to 'IDS registry' it seems.
And I've checked the notes from the discussion, and honestly I don't get it there, either.
