A bit of recent DEA Maps-related feedback: we recently had a stakeholder who wasn't aware of how to access product metadata or data access info for products listed in DEA Maps. The simple answer is "click on About" to view the WMS description, but we currently have a pretty non-standard way to providing metadata across our layers - some layers have just a paragraph, some include CMI links, others include eCat links.
I know there were plans afoot at one point to automatically sync metadata from CMI to our WMS, but I wonder if a simpler short-term approach could be to ensure we at the very least include a standardised CMI link for every product in CMI, using the same text everywhere so it's easy to interact with. E.g. something like this for every product:
"For more information and data access, visit the product description/metadata page"
(Another option to make this even more prominent could do to use Terria's "shortReport" functionality which adds a little bit of text to the workbench - see Coastlines example below)
