Compilation
-----------
- Use CMake to generate a Makefile/project.
You can enable/disable almost everything - audio drivers, sound cores, etc., so you are free to build only what you need.
- I tested the CMake file with:
- [Windows] Visual Studio 6.0 (Note: VC6 projects require CMake 3.5 or lower)
- [Windows] Visual Studio 2010 [32 and 64 bit configurations]
- [Windows] MSYS2 GCC 6.3 [64 bit]
- [Linux] GCC 4.8 [64 bit] on OpenSUSE 13.1
- [Linux] GCC 6.3 [64 bit] on Ubuntu 17.04 and Gentoo
Required Libraries
------------------
- Under Linux, you will need to install additional packages before you can enable support for certain audio drivers.
ALSA: libasound2-dev [Debian] / alsa-devel [SUSE]
PulseAudio: libpulse-dev [Debian] / libpulse-devel [SUSE]
libao: libao-dev [Debian] / libao-devel [SUSE]
- Under Windows, header files for WinMM and DirectSound should be included with MSYS or Visual Studio.
Headers for XAudio2 are included with libvgm.
For WASAPI support you need to use Visual Studio 2005 or higher and install the Windows SDK.
- In order to build the VGM test program, you need the package for the zlib library:
zlib1g-dev [Debian] / zlib-devel [SUSE]
Notes
-----
- In order to select certain sound cores, you need to disable SNDEMU_ALL.
- The non-CMake Makefiles and projects are just for internal testing.
They usually compile everything or are horribly out-of-date.
They also might use different names for the libraries.
