Currently, when I want to look at my last meal or insulin intake, I have to manually scroll and find the last entry myself.
Since there is room under the date on the lefthand side of the screen, I think adding buttons to jump to the last entry of blood sugar, meals, insulin, etc. would greatly enhance the handling of the protocol screen.

I have a few questions: Are we talking about the log? Where exactly could this button be placed? The free space on the left is little between days with zero or only one measurement.
Maybe you could provide some sort of mockup for me to better understand the use case of this additional button.
Pressing any of the buttons would scroll to the last respective entry.
I only added three buttons/icons, but there is room for all of them. Especially if categories without entries do not show buttons or if they can be disabled one by one.
Thank you very much for the mockup! Now I get what you are going for. I am not entirely sure about the buttons on the left due to the dynamic space between days, but I will think about a way to improve the navigation for days with many entries.
