Broken screen repair

The most vulnerable part of a Nugget is the screen. This is why we created the case to help protect it, but sometimes that's not enough.

The unsupported glass lip on the lower left and right of the screen is easy to crack by accident, and severs data lines which case the screen to look like above.

You can fix this with a soldering iron and a replacement SH1106 4 pin screen.

The technique we use is to remove the old screen is to melt a giant blob of solder across all four screen pins on the back of the Nugget. Heat the blob of solder and pull the screen up and out of the circuitboard.

Replace the old screen with a new one. You may need to use a desoldering pump to remove the solder from the holes in the Nugget PCB to insert the new screen.
